Birmingham water system must be taken over to end ‘reckless and unlawful’ acts, lawsuit claims

Birmingham’s regional water utility is heading back to court as a familiar name is joining a lawsuit that accuses them of “willful, reckless and self-interested violations of their duty.”

A lawsuit against Central Alabama Water Board and its CEO Jeffrey Thompson was expanded late Wednesday to include former Birmingham Water Works Board Chair Tereshia Huffman.
