DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A new scam tactic for the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has left an elderly Summerville couple out of $9,500, and they’re pushing out a warning to prevent others from becoming the next victim.
A random phone call in the middle of the day on May 20 left one elderly Summerville couple in a panic. And their grandson Ryan Ward says it left him in shock.
“It was apparently somebody acting as myself saying that I got in a car accident and I rear-ended a pregnant woman and she’s in critical condition,” Ward said…
