Mother of missing Nashville woman arrested for fraud after using daughter’s identity, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Nashville woman remains behind bars after Metro Nashville Police said she continued collecting food stamp benefits in the name of her daughter, who has been missing for nine years.

Shannon Anderson, 51, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony food stamp fraud for allegedly claiming benefits for her daughter, Jodie “Brooke” Anderson. Police said Shannon also faces charges related to sex offender registry violations.

Brooke Anderson was 18 when she was reported missing on Aug. 9, 2017. Her aunt, De’Anna Anderson, said she hopes the latest arrest brings renewed attention to Brooke’s cold case…
