Donald Newhouse remembered as generous benefactor, adviser who cared about Syracuse University students

Syracuse, N.Y. — When Donald Newhouse made one of his many visits to Syracuse University, he wasn’t very interested in attending a fancy reception or speaking to a large audience.

What he enjoyed most, according to those who knew him, was chatting up students studying at his family’s namesake communications school.
