BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The StormTracker Team is preparing Louisiana residents for the upcoming hurricane season.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), hurricane season is from June 1 to Nov. 30.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting a “below-normal” 2026 season, with an expected eight to 14 named storms, three to six of which are hurricanes, and one to three of which are major hurricanes.
