PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – As average long-term mortgage rates climb, along with cost-of-living, Nextdoor ranked the most affordable neighborhoods to live around Portland in 2026.
To compile the affordability list, Nextdoor analyzed housing costs, income and other economic data, including how Portlanders live in their communities. Nextdoor’s list focuses on the Bethany area.
According to Nextdoor, the number one most affordable neighborhood near Portland is 185th and West Union. Nextdoor gave the neighborhood a perfect 100 score on its index, citing the family-friendliness, dog-friendliness, diversity, peacefulness and shopping.
The second most affordable neighborhood is Arbor Oaks in the Bethany area. The neighborhood received a 100 score for affordability and an 80 for friendliness. Nextdoor called the neighborhood “peaceful,” and “well-maintained,” and known for its parks…
