Pedestrian, cyclist safety top of mind in MOVEBR Terrace Ave. project

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – City leaders are kicking off an estimated $10 million MOVEBR project to improve Terrace Avenue, making it safer for pedestrians and cyclists while upgrading the road that connects Highland and Perkins.

Neighbors along Terrace Ave. say speeding and a lack of crosswalks have made the area dangerous for children.

“It can be sometimes very dangerous because the traffic; oftentimes the cars are traveling really fast,” said Wanda Spurlock, who has lived off Terrace Avenue for nearly three decades. “We’ve also seen several accidents that have occurred right on that corner, mainly with children.”…
