ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – The Rockford Fire Department worked to put out a heavy fire at a two-story apartment building Friday morning.
Officials responded to 105 North 9th Street in Rockford, across from the UW Health Swedish American Hospital on E. State Street, around 4 a.m. Friday.
As of 5:45 a.m., fire crews said all residents were evacuated, although two suffered minor injuries. One firefighter was also treated for minor injuries, officials said.
Authorities said the property, owned by Homes Now, contained 8 units. The property owner said displaced residents would be given rental assistance and moved into another facility…
