Central Alabama Water reviews rate options as customers voice concerns over water bills

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Central Alabama Water officials spent Friday reviewing how customers are charged for water service while some residents expressed frustration over bills they say are difficult to predict and afford.

The utility’s Board of Directors held a rate-setting workshop to review the current rate structure and discuss potential options for the future. The board heard a presentation from Raftelis Financial Consultants. No action was taken during the workshop.
