Horry County Board of Education to swear in newly appointed member

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Matthew Robinson, a newly appointed member of the Horry County Schools Board of Education, will take the oath of office on June 8, according to a district spokesperson.

Board members met in a special session on Thursday and appointed Robinson to fill the District 5 seat, which has been vacant since Howard Barnard resigned on April 1, citing health reasons. Barnard, a former Horry County Council member, who had served on the board since 2020, died in May.
