ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Peters Creek Bridge closure on the Glenn Highway has been extended by an estimated 45 days, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities said.
The northbound bridge and northbound Birchwood Loop Road on ramp closed in mid-April and were expected to reopen soon, but the plan has changed, DOT said.
“After removing the asphalt, crews found more extensive areas of weakened concrete. Because of this, the project has shifted from a repair project to a full bridge deck replacement,” it said…
