What appears to be a massive $1.4 billion data center campus will soon be breaking ground in Central Texas.
The new development by an industry giant is set for a booming tech hub just outside of Texas’ Capital City. Two $700 million Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) construction filings, totaling $1.4 billion, were submitted for a data center in Cedar Creek within Bastrop County, about 35 miles southeast of Austin. Global data center provider EdgeConneX is planning to build the campus as the company seeks to grow its footprint in the Lone Star State over the next few years.
EdgeConneX’s new data center will be located on a nearly 180-acre property at 6682 FM 535 in Cedar Creek, Community Impact reported in March. Both new TDLR filings bear that same address.
