Kansas City hosts free pet vaccine and microchip clinic at Swope Park

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The City of Kansas City hosted its third annual Pawsitive Protection day at Swope Park, offering families free pet vaccines, microchips and more as the cost of living continues to rise.

The event, led by the office of Councilwoman Melissa Patterson-Hazley, was held in collaboration with community partners including Pet Resource Center KC, KC Pet Project, Union Hill Animal Hospital, KCPD and more.

“When we have a housing crisis and rents are going up, utilities, gas, you have to start looking at what are the changes that you can make to save money,” Patterson-Hazley said. “And sometimes people surrender their pets. And so this is one way we’re helping families stay united.”…
