EUGENE — When Pharalynn Dickson began her high school track and field days at South Albany in the spring of 2023, she had no expectations of what might lie ahead over the next four years.
“I didn’t really think about it,” she said after her first state meet, when as a freshman she became the first 5A runner in the past 13 years to sweep the 100-, 200- and 400-meter state titles.
“I was just thinking about what’s next for me, you know? Being this age, I can always do better.”…
