High of 84, 25% chance of rain on Monday in Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A cold front will drop southward through the Piedmont today, bringing in another blast of dry, cool air. Today’s highs top out in the mid-80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. There is a slim, 25% chance of showers this afternoon across the southern Piedmont.

By this evening, we will have much more comfortable conditions outdoors, with lower humidity.  Skies remain partly to mostly cloudy, and there may be some isolated showers popping up during the morning commute on Tuesday. Lows dip to 60 degrees by daybreak. During the day, skies will slowly and steadily clear, and highs will stay rather cool, in the mid-70s.

Rain chances will stay very low for the remainder of the week, which will not help with our drought status. A huge dome of high pressure is forecast to dominate the forecast, starting Wednesday through the weekend, with sunny skies, low humidity, and warming temperatures.  Highs on Wednesday climb to 80 degrees then return to the mid-80s on Thursday before finally topping out in the lower-90s on Friday…
