Seminole County woman arrested in deadly 2025 reckless driving crash, deputies say

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Nearly a year after a crash that left a man dead, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest.

Amanda Babcock, 37, of Geneva, was taken into custody on Thursday.

According to an arrest report, Babcock was driving recklessly and cutting into oncoming traffic on State Road 46 when she crashed into a van and an SUV on June 7, 2025. Edward Rathman, a passenger in the SUV, was killed, and three others were injured…
