Mobile man involved in 2019 shootout with police ordered back to prison

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Mobile man involved in a shootout with police in 2019 will be going back to prison after a federal judge ruled he violated the terms of his supervised release.

Johnny Vail pleaded guilty in October 2019 to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A judge sentenced him to almost six years in prison followed by a period of supervision by the U.S. Probation Office.
