Fifth Third, Comerica closing 14 West Michigan branches

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Fifth Third Bancorp, which acquired Comerica Incorporated in February, is closing 75 bank branches in Michigan, government records show.

Fourteen of those are in West Michigan, including six in Grand Rapids. In a statement provided to News 8, Fifth Third said it is “consolidating some overlapping branches.”

“Fifth Third is building a stronger, more efficient branch network that supports customers today and positions the Bank for long-term sustainable growth in Michigan and across our expanded footprint,” the company said. “… While we are consolidating some overlapping branches, the majority of those locations will have another Fifth Third financial center within one mile.”

Below is the list of Comerica and Fifth Third bank locations in West Michigan being shuttered by the company, according to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency:

KENT COUNTY

  • Campau Square Branch: 99 Monroe Avenue NW, Grand Rapids
  • Woodland Mall Branch: 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids
  • Plainfield Branch: 4065 Plainfield Avenue NE, Grand Rapids
  • Cascade Branch: 6511 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids
  • 52nd-Kalamazoo Branch: 5135 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Grand Rapids
  • Four Mile-Alpine Branch: 857 Four Mile Road, Grand Rapids
  • Grandville-44th Wilson Branch: 4480 Wilson Avenue, Grandville

CALHOUN COUNTY

  • Springfield Branch: 215 North 20th Street, Battle Creek

KALAMAZOO COUNTY

  • Oakwood Branch: 2025 Whites Road, Kalamazoo
  • 01683 Kalamazoo Main BC: 136 East Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo
  • Maple Hill Branch: 5080 West Main Street, Kalamazoo

MUSKEGON COUNTY

  • Northside Branch: 414 Center Street, Muskegon
  • 01706 Seminole Road BC: 710 Seminole Road, Norton Shores
  • Eastside Branch: 2133 East Apple Avenue, Muskegon
