‘Back to what they should be’: $19M will fund two-way conversion of major Kalamazoo road

KALAMAZOO, MI — The Kalamazoo City Commission approved two contracts totaling $19 million to fund the two-way conversion of Kalamazoo Avenue at a Monday, June 1, City Commission meeting.

Kalamazoo Avenue is a major westbound thoroughfare through the heart of downtown Kalamazoo.

Transitioning the road to two-way traffic is part of Kalamazoo’s Streets for All initiative, a multi-year project to convert multiple one-way streets to two-way traffic.
