City of St. Louis seeks bids for demolition of old Gitto’s restaurant, nearby skybridge

ST. LOUIS — The city of St. Louis has issued a request for bids for some structures on City Block 129, a step toward demolishing the block that’s home to the Railway Exchange parking garage.

The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority is seeking bids for demolition of the former Charlie Gitto’s restaurant at 207 N. Sixth St. and a skybridge connecting the Railway Exchange parking garage at 614 Olive St. to the Kiener Plaza West garage at 604 Pine St.

The work is scheduled to begin by July 15 and be done by Sept. 30, according to bid documents. Bids can be submitted online and are due by 1 p.m. on June 19…
