Kalamazoo’s river cleanup has something for everyone — from wading creeks to paddling kayaks

KALAMAZOO, MI — The Rotary Club of Kalamazoo is organizing the third annual Kalamazoo River Cleanup on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to noon across parks, waterways and trails in Kalamazoo, Comstock and Parchment.

The free community event will focus on removing debris and trash from the water, banks and surrounding trails to restore natural habitats and improve water quality for recreational use and future generations. The Rotary Club is partnering with local community organizations to coordinate the effort.

Volunteers can participate in several ways based on their comfort level, including as families, trail walkers, creek waders or river paddlers. General volunteers will begin orientation at 10 a.m. at designated worksites selected during registration.
