BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Three East Baton Rouge Metro Council members were subpoenaed to testify Wednesday morning in the ongoing corruption investigation involving the Baton Rouge City-Parish government.
Council members Jenn Racca and Denise Amoroso confirmed they received subpoenas. They also said Councilman Brandon Noel received one. Noel could not immediately be reached for comment; however, sources close to the investigation also confirmed he was subpoenaed.
A special grand jury convened by the Louisiana attorney general began meeting last year. The grand jury, along with investigators with the attorney general’s office, charged eight people since December. Among them are Councilman Cleve Dunn. Courtney Scott, a former top aide to former Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, is also facing charges. Dunn and Scott are accused of taking kickbacks tied to public contracts…
