MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WBTW) — An Horry County senior’s dream of going to college has become a reality through a competitive scholarship.
St. James High School student Cole LaPoint will attend the University of Chicago through after receiving the prestigious Gates Scholarship, which will pay for his tuition. LaPoint said he grew up a military kid with a single mom and has attended 11 different schools in multiple states.
