CLIPPER GAP, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol has identified the suspect in last week’s deadly hit-and-run crash in Placer County.
Commercial driver Robert Bell, a 60-year-old from Stockton, CA, is suspected of fleeing from the scene of a fatal crash on Interstate 80 near Clipper Gap on May 26, according to the CHP. The law enforcement agency responded to the crash around 11 p.m. that night and found the commercial vehicle had collided with the center divider. The vehicle’s trailer then collided with a Ford F-150 that was traveling eastbound, eventually killing the Ford driver.
Bell is alleged to have fled on foot and hasn’t been found. CHP investigators say the commercial carrier involved has cooperated and is assisting with the investigation…
