Diaz Recognized by Governor Reynolds for Work in Classroom

Columbus Community senior Daniela Diaz has been busy raking in academic honors for her work in the classroom. Diaz was recognized at the 24th Annual Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony by Governor Kim Reynolds and Lieutenant Governor Chris Cournoyer for her outstanding academic achievement in April. The event, held at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, honored 429 high school seniors from across Iowa.

In May, Diaz was also honored with a $2,000 scholarship from the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa. Diaz was awarded the scholarship for her academic achievements, extra curricular activities, and work history…
