Aquatennial gets new leadership, will return in July

The Aquatennial is returning to Minneapolis in July, organizers announced on Tuesday.

Last fall, the Minneapolis Downtown Council announced it would stop producing large-scale events, including Holidazzle and the Aquatennial. But the long-running celebration has been brought back by the nonprofit Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO), which has taken over organizing the festival.

The 2026 installment will take place July 18–26, with free and family-friendly events taking place throughout the city.
