Music lineup and official poster unveiled for 22nd Annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The date, music lineup, and official posted for the 22nd Annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival have been announced.

This year’s festival is being present by Live! Casino & Hotel, and will be held Saturday, Sept. 19 at Columbia Park in Shreveport. The festival features three music stages, activities for kids, a pet area, vendors, food trucks, and more. The festival is free to the public.

THE MUSIC

Headlining this year’s festival is Dumpstaphunk, a cornerstone of New Orleans music. Over the last two decades, the group has earned the reputation as a next-generation funk group rooted in the legacy of the Neville brothers and The Meters. Their live performances have drawn guest appearances from musical legends such as Carlos Santana, Bob Weir, George Clinton, Dave Matthews, and members of Phish. The group opened for the Rolling Stones in New Orleans and toured with the Dave Matthews Band.

The main Pavilion Stage will feature artists such as:

  • Tribute to Buddy Flett with surprise guests

When asked about the death of frequent performer and Grammy-nominated musician, Buddy Flett, Executive Director Emerie Eck Holtzclaw said, “Buddy was a dear friend and he never missed a chance to play our festival. Out of the 21 years, he only missed one. He cannot be replaced. We will pivot and ensure that in his opening slot we have surprise guests performing a tribute set in his honor.”
