Resident calls for actions as graffiti, abandoned vehicles persist in east Las Vegas neighborhood

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An east Las Vegas valley neighborhood is facing a growing number of abandoned vehicles and graffiti-covered properties.

One longtime homeowner told 8 News Now she’s repeatedly reported the issues but continues to see the problems linger for weeks and sometimes months. Christine Saunders has lived near East Sahara Avenue and Interstate 11 for more than 20 years.

“You don’t see this in Green Valley, you don’t see this in Summerlin, you don’t see these issues because they address them right away,” Saunder said.

She said several abandoned and work vehicles have been left parked throughout the neighborhood of Walnut Road and Welter Avenue, creating concerns now that summer break is underway and more children are outside…
