CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Corvallis Police Department honored two people who helped save a driver’s life after a crash in April.
On April 20, 2026, dispatchers got a 9-1-1 call about a car that crashed off the road. Bystanders John Schneider and Megan Gregory-Goplen jumped in and realized the crash happened because the driver had a medical emergency. With help from 9-1-1 Telecommunicator Anna Schulz, they started CPR on the unconscious driver until help arrived.
“In moments of crisis, most people will experience fear and uncertainty,” Chief of Police Jason Harvey said. “The individuals we are honoring today chose to act. Faced with a life-threatening emergency, they stepped forward, provided CPR, and gave someone in our community a fighting chance at life.”…
