Abbeville Fire Department recruits face the heat during live fire training

ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY) — While many people instinctively run from danger, firefighters are trained to move toward it. That reality was on full display as the Abbeville Fire Department conducted live fire training evolution drills for its newest recruits.

The hands-on training gave recruits the opportunity to practice critical firefighting skills in a controlled environment designed to simulate real emergency situations. Training exercises included advancing hose lines, conducting search and rescue operations, identifying fire behavior, and learning how to safely navigate smoke-filled structures.
