SALEM, OR – The Willamette Heritage Center is asking for the public’s help in locating a historic firearm that was reported stolen from a museum exhibit.
Museum staff discovered May 28 that the firearm had been removed from a display case inside the museum’s theater. The long gun, which once belonged to Oregon pioneer Josiah Parrish, was on loan from Willamette University and is considered a significant historical artifact.
According to the museum, the firearm is believed to have been taken sometime between May 23 and May 28. Staff contacted the Salem Police Department, and detectives are looking into the disappearance…
