Three people killed in Memorial Day Seward Highway crash identified

GIRDWOOD, Alaska (KTUU) – The three victims killed in the crash on the Seward Highway near Girdwood on Memorial Day have been identified by the Anchorage Police Department.

Officers responded to the fatal collision near mile 80 around 3:41 p.m. on May 25 after receiving a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle, according to APD. Officers found a Subaru Crosstrek engulfed in flames at the scene.

The motorcyclist was identified as 22-year-old Brian Padgett, and those in the Subaru were identified as 56-year-old Cong Xue and 54-year-old Xiu You. Officials said family members have been contacted…
