Millions watch as Schenectady native turns homemade meals into a mission

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Schenectady native is getting national attention for her efforts to help those in need. A video showing her cooking homemade meals for people experiencing homelessness has gone viral, racking up millions of views online.

Five years ago, Shaquilla Cridelle moved from Schenectady to Georgia and last year she had a calling to help give back to the homeless.

“I put my job on hold back in, I would say, around August of last year. It’s been very difficult. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever did,” said Shaquilla Cridelle, CEO of Block2Block Ministry.

But with no regrets, she decided to roll up her sleeves and do what she knew how to do best: make homemade meals.
