Coroner identifies bicyclist struck by vehicle on Weedpatch Hwy

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a man who was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Weedpatch Highway early Thursday morning.

William Gerry Porter, 39, of Bakersfield was a bicyclist at 12:10 a.m. June 4 in the southbound lane of Weedpatch Highway, south of Eucalyptus Drive.

A 27-year-old man was driving a 2005 Infiniti Sedan in the same direction approaching Porter, according to the California Highway Patrol.
