Man rescued from grain silo in Cheney in critical condition

CHENEY, Wash. – A 21-year-old man was rescued from the top of a grain silo and airlifted by Life Flight to “a regional trauma center” in critical condition on Friday morning, according to the Cheney Fire Department (CFD).

CFD said they were dispatched to reports of a medical injury after a fall at around 12:25 a.m., and found the man was on top of a grain silo when crews arrived.

“Through a coordinated multi-agency effort, responders stabilized the patient, utilized specialized rope rescue systems, and safely lowered him to the ground,” CFD said. “Currently, the patient remains in critical condition. Our thoughts are with the patient, his family, and loved ones during this difficult time.”…
