FORT LEE — The Route 9W Bridge that crosses over multiple highways near the George Washington Bridge is on pace to be replaced as part of a new “Design-Build.”
Also known as the Fletcher Avenue bridge in Fort Lee, the span crosses over routes 95, 1, 9, 46 and 4. It was built in 1930 and, following a required inspection, was deemed to be in poor condition and obsolete.
The “best value selection” and project award are expected to happen in late 2027, with construction anticipated to begin in 2028, said Lizzy Galamba, a state Department of Transportation public information officer…
