I am writing to address a never-ending issue that is plaguing our neighborhood: the rampant, illegal dumping of trash and construction debris all over Marion Oaks. What used to be a peaceful community is being treated like an open-air landfill, and the situation has gotten completely out of hand.
With the rapid growth in our area, construction is everywhere. Unfortunately, instead of paying proper disposal fees at the landfill, irresponsible contractors and residents are taking shortcuts. Daily, piles of heavy construction debris, shingles, concrete blocks, drywall, and leftover lumber are being recklessly tossed into our vacant lots and along our roads. On top of the commercial waste, we are constantly dealing with abandoned tires, old mattresses, broken furniture, and bags of household garbage.
The reality is that if it wasn’t for dedicated local residents who go out weekly to volunteer their time to pick up everyone else’s mess, Marion Oaks would already resemble a literal landfill. These community-minded neighbors are the only thing keeping our streets halfway presentable, but they should not have to carry the burden of cleaning up after criminals…
