Oregon’s newest high school sport caps ‘exciting’ but uneven first year, students say

The May 23 quarterfinals, which South Salem won three sets to Crook County’s one, came near the end of the first year of Oregon School Activities Association-sanctioned boys volleyball games across the state.

Until this year, boys volleyball in Oregon was solely a club sport, meaning players had to find money for equipment, coaching, travel and tournament fees on their own…
