Scattered Showers Before a Major Midweek Warmup

Sunshine kicks off Sunday morning, following the overnight cold front and storm activity. However, cloud coverage will begin to take over the bright skies by mid-afternoon as another disturbance drops south out of northern New England. Scattered showers begin shortly after.

Sunday Evening:

A few rounds of showers and even an isolated thunderstorm are expected to develop this afternoon and early evening. Most communities will stay dry more often than damp, as this is not expected to be a washout. The heaviest rainfall appears likely to track across eastern portions of Southern New England, so Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island are more likely to see scattered showers capable of producing brief heavy downpours. Rain chances gradually diminish through the evening, with most activity ending by 9 PM at the latest.
