Will anyone EGOT at the 2026 Tony Awards?
7:59 p.m.: No person is poised to earn their EGOT, the coveted combination of winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, tonight.
However, Apple TV+ broke Netflix’s record for an EGOT achieved by a streamer thanks to “Schmigadoon!,” which began as an Apple comedy series. Netflix, which produced “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” capped off its EGOT last year when the staged prequel to the hit television series won a Tony for its design.
You know how Apple TV+ should celebrate? By giving the people what they want: the third season of “Schmigadoon!” the series, which the streamer cruelly cancelled.
