Boston man sentenced to prison for threatening federal agent online

A Boston man was sentenced last week to over a year in prison for making threats against a federal agent online, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Kenneth Pacheco, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of threatening a federal law enforcement officer in federal court in Boston on Jan. 23. On Thursday, a judge sentenced him to 16 months in prison and three years of supervised release.

In May 2025, investigators received a tip from an anonymous source alleging that an individual using a Facebook profile under the name “Amir Haqqani” was making threats against the source and others, federal prosecutors said. Investigators spoke with Pacheco in connection with the complaint…
