CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – One of the largest wine and spirits distributors in the U.S. appears to be cutting dozens of jobs in Ohio as it continues to shrink its footprint nationwide.
Republic National Distributing Co. could lay off 56 employees as it ceases operations at three locations in the Buckeye State – including two sites in Greater Cincinnati. The moves follow several months of downsizing by the Texas-based firm.
The company, in a notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act filed June 1 with the state, said it has been exploring various strategic alternatives, including a potential sale. Its Ohio facilities – located at 125 E. Court St., downtown; at 4460 Lake Forest Drive in Blue Ash; and in Columbus – will be purchased by a third party, the notice said…
