Cooler temperatures return to the San Joaquin Valley

Saturday’s temperatures weren’t quite as hot as Friday’s, and that trend will continue for the next few days. Look for highs only in the 80’s in the Valley on Sunday, which should continue into the work week.

Merced didn’t make into the 90’s on Saturday (only 88), but the rest of the Valley was warmer. Madera warmed to 90, while Fresno hit 93. Hanford and Visalia topped out at 94, and Porterville was the warm spot at 95. Saturday should be the last day we see 90’s in the Valley for a while, as a weak disturbance moving through the Pacific Northwest Saturday night weakened high pressure over California. Another one moving through on Tuesday will keep our highs in the 80’s.
