PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – The Cape Verde national team held their World Cup send off at Centreville Bank Stadium this afternoon.
The “Blue Sharks” were welcomed with fanfare and support of thousands Cape Verdean fans from across the region. The team walked out to the field accompanied by players of the Pawtucket Youth Soccer Association.
Cape Verde is the second smallest island nation to qualify for one of the biggest sporting tournaments in the world. This will be the nation’s first ever appearance in the big tournament…
