With hundreds of hospital beds needed in the Wilmington area, state officials will evaluate two providers to determine who will lead the next era of healthcare in the region.
Back in February, Novant Health announced plans for a $1 billion expansion which included a new heart and vascular patient tower. The provider plans to open the facility by 2031. UNC Health announced plans for a new hospital in May with a targeted opening date of 2030.
