LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A statue immortalizing the famed racehorse Man o’ War was restored in late May at the Kentucky Horse Park.
With its dedication dating back to Man o’ War’s passing in 1947, his statue is the oldest at the horse park.

Its old patina was removed, and a new finish was carefully applied to restore its signature chestnut color before a final protective wax coating was added, helping to preserve the historic landmark for generations to come.
Foaled in 1917 in Lexington, Man o’ War won 20 of the 21 races he would go on to run, grossing just short of $250,000 in career earnings…
