Federal complaint: Former Toledo catholic school employee bragged about access to students as a coach prior to arrest in Florida

TOLEDO, Ohio — A federal affidavit accuses former Toledo catholic school employee and coach Patrick Russell of bragging about his access to student athletes, in addition to alleged possession of thousands of videos and images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Patrick Russell, 37, was recently arrested and charged in connection with allegations of inappropriate behavior in Broward County, Florida, according to the sheriff’s office there. According to his LinkedIn profile, Russell was employed as an English teacher and coach at St. Benedict Grade School in Toledo from August 2015 to June 2016. Investigators said his current address is in Deerfield Beach, Florida, where the affidavit said he was employed as a teacher at the time.

Fr. Jason Kahle, pastor of Little Flower Catholic Church and superintendent of St. Benedict Catholic School in Toledo, said Russell was recently arrested and charged in connection with allegations of inappropriate behavior. According to Kahle, Russell worked at the school back in 2015. Fr.
