After six years in the making and some delays, construction crews have broken ground on a new retail center in the heart of a Brunswick County city.
The old Carr Insurance building on the corner of W. Nash and N. Howe streets in Southport’s historic downtown was demolished and the site cleared over a year ago. A bigger building will soon replace it.
