Victims turn the tables in armed robbery, tie up teen suspect

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A construction crew rehabbing a house in the Highland Heights area disarmed and detained a teen who tried to rob them with a BB gun Monday morning, police say.

When officers arrived in the 600 block of Hillcrest, they found Leotha Bush, 18, tied up to the rails of the front porch. They also noticed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun just off the front walkway.

They said Bush told them it was a BB gun before he was untied and taken into police custody.

“Thank God that everyone’s alright,” said Walter Holston. “It’s just so dangerous now. You just have to be careful with everything, you know.”
