Skyline girls soccer suffers last-minute heartbreak in state semifinals

ROCHESTER HILLS – Sometimes one goal is enough, but even Chris Morgan knew that more would be needed, despite his team being the one ahead.

The Ann Arbor Skyline girls soccer coach watched his team’s 1-0 lead evaporate in the final 15 minutes of regulation as they fell 2-1 to Troy in the Division 1 state semifinals Tuesday at Rochester Hills Stoney Creek High School.

Skyline had held the one-score advantage for the first 65 minutes of the game thanks to a goal from Jade Thompson in the 15th minute of the first half, but Morgan didn’t think the one goal would be enough…
